Does every consumer product require a CPSC certificate?
No. Certification depends on the finished product and the CPSC rules, bans, standards, or regulations that apply. Confirm applicability using current CPSC guidance and authorized professionals.
Is a General Certificate of Conformity the same as a Children’s Product Certificate?
No. General-use products and children’s products have different testing and certification requirements. Determine the correct certificate type from the product and applicable rules.
What changed on July 8, 2026?
CPSC states that eFiling took effect for most imported regulated consumer products and that certificate-content updates also became effective. The Foreign Trade Zone effective date is January 8, 2027.
